These superb dolls were from Lloyderson in conjunction with Marin in Spain. The workmanship on the Lloyderson line is always beautiful...the wigs are fantastic, and their method of stabilizing the doll onto the base is ingenious...running the post up through one shoe gives a "isn't it neat how they did that" feeling.
When you see a picture of one of these dolls, the proportion is so good that you look twice to see if it's a person or a doll. They are beautiful dolls!
Sandra is vinyl, done with a beautiful handpainted face and has deep blonde hair styled with a pearl crown and accents.
Her poufed neckline is accented with a green and "pearl" brooch. Two double "pearl" bracelets match the other jewelry.
Her dress is made of sheer turquoise chiffon enhanced with gold metallic "sun sprays." A deep ruffle accents the hem; she carries a gold and white fan decorated with matching turquoise flowers.
There is a wire hoop inside the slip and padding in the back keeps the bustle in place. She's mounted firmly to a wood tone stand with a brass plate that reads "Sandra Siglo XIX." She's just a bit under 17" tall.
Her hangtag disappeared when I moved these dolls home from my shop. They were all bought at the Dallas market...I carried an extensive line of them for several years. These were ones I planned to keep for my own collection but space has become a luxury!
The larger Lloyderson dolls, these designer dolls and the historical figures, have been especially well done and set a standard for this type of doll. It has been a hard decision to part with the ones I will be listing, but I'm simply out of room for storage and something has to give. Just be sure you can promise to love this beauty as much as I do!
